In the Vinnytsia region, border guards rescued a man who was drowning in the Dniester

In the Vinnytsia region, border guards of the Mogilev-Podolsk detachment noticed a man trying to swim across the Dniester to reach the coast of the neighboring country. The State Border Guard Service reported this on July 16.

The man was caught in the fast current. Swimming closer, border guards pulled the man from the water and administered first aid.

The swimmer turned out to be a 32-year-old resident of the Mogilev-Podolsk community. He had documents and a phone with him, which he wrapped in film and tied to his body.

A report is made against the violator for attempting to cross the border illegally, and the case is sent to court.

We remind you that the body of a man who was trying to get to Moldova across the river was recovered from the Dniester.

It was previously reported that another drowned person was found on the Romanian border in the Tisza River – the seventeenth since the beginning of 2024.
