The Rada canceled the transition to summer time

The law establishes a permanent standard of UTC+2 on the international scale. Earlier, the representatives emphasized that the annual change of the hands of the clock “causes many negative consequences and causes great damage to the health of the citizens.

On July 16, the Verkhovna Rada voted on a bill to abolish daylight saving time. This is stated in the draft law card.

This year, Ukrainians will change their winter clocks for the last time on October 27th. No further translation. The law establishes a permanent UTC+2 standard in Ukraine on an international scale.

The president must still sign the document.

Earlier, the Committee for Economic Development said that “according to most scientists and doctors,” the annual movement of the clock forward and backward by one hour “brings many negative consequences and causes great damage to the health of citizens . during adaptation.”

Citing “scientific research,” lawmakers emphasized that time changes have been linked to cardiovascular or immune system diseases because they disrupt biological cycles.

“It has also been proven that changing clocks does not help save energy,” the committee concluded.

Let us remind you that in the near future deputies will consider the second reading bill No. 4201, which provides for the abolition of the transition from summer to winter time in Ukraine and vice versa. The first reading of the document took place in 2021.

Note that on March 26, 2019, the European Parliament voted to abolish the seasonal clock change starting in 2021.

Ukraine then announced that they intended to do the same. The corresponding bill was voted on in the first reading on March 3, 2021.
