Nikolai performed as part of a trio of musicians in the anarchic western genre play Red, Black and Red Again, directed by Maxim Golenko, which premiered in 2020.
In the war against the Russian invaders, Nikolai Lenok, a musician and member of the Troistye Music group, died. It was reported on Monday, July 15, at the Wild Theater.
“We are sad to announce that our accordionist Nikolai Lenok, who always performed as part of a musical triplet in the play Red, Black and Red Again, died at the front in Chasovoy Yar,” said the theater’s post.
Nikolai Lenok joined the ranks of the defenders of Ukraine at the beginning of a full-scale invasion. In particular, in 2022 he served as a combat medic in the 136th separate battalion of the territorial defense of the city of Brovary.
Nikolai is survived by his wife and two sons – 11-year-old Nazar and 2-year-old Bogdan.
Let’s add that the Ukrainian independent Wild Theater was created in Kyiv in 2016 and does not have a permanent base – performances are held in different locations. They aim to provoke and engage the viewer, bringing up pressing social issues.
