He (Budanov) said that he was understood a little incorrectly, the president told journalists at a press conference.
In his opinion, and the opinion of the military leadership, serious work has been done in the Kharkov region to make a powerful offensive by the Muscovites from the north impossible.
According to the head of state, the Ukrainian Armed Forces were stopped in this direction by Russian troops pulled together from different areas, and this made it impossible for there to be a strong group on the other side.
This is what I have from the intelligence services of our country,” Zelensky noted.
On July 13, the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defence, Budanov, commented in an interview with NV on the threat of an offensive by Russian troops from the north with the words:
Let’s put it this way: there are problems, they tend to worsen. There is no catastrophe, but it is impossible not to see the problems. I already told someone from the Western press: I will not have much good news this year, unfortunately.
He did not specify which directions in the north he was talking about.
