The use of Ukrainian electricity significantly exceeds the capacity of Ukrainian power plants to cover the deficit. On Monday, July 15, regional power companies are applying consumption restrictions throughout the day. This was reported by the company “Ukrenergo”.
It is noted that in order to compensate for the energy deficit in the system, three stages of hourly shutdown schedules will be in effect today until 16:00, and four stages from 16:00 to 24:00.
Ukrenergo noted that consumers in each region who are not included in the list of critical infrastructure facilities are divided into six queues. The application of restrictions in three queues means that for half of the consumers in each region, hourly shutdown schedules apply. When a larger number of queues are applied, the restrictions apply to a larger number of consumers.
Let us recall that Ukrainian Prime Minister Denis Shmyhal stated that the authorities expect the situation with electricity to improve in the twenties of July, because repair work will be completed at some generating facilities, which will increase the capacity of the energy system.
