This was reported by the publication Spiegel, citing secret documents from the Bundeswehr.
The plan calls for the removal of around 800,000 troops and 200,000 units of military equipment, trucks and tanks from North Sea ports. The A2 motorway has been identified as the key route, but Germany fears that Russia could paralyse the route with sabotage and missile strikes.
The documents say that NATO forces would need broad support from the civilian population in the event of war. This includes providing food, shelter, water, and garbage removal.
Earlier, German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius stated that NATO’s war with Russia could begin before 2029.
