In Moscow pre-trial detention center No. 4, the accused in the case of theft from the Russian Ministry of Defense died suddenly as a result of a heart attack. Interfax reported this on Saturday, July 13.

It is indicated that we are talking about businessman Igor Kotelnikov. He died in the punishment cell of the pre-trial detention center on Monday. My husband was only 52 years old, but his heart suddenly stopped.

In turn, a source familiar with the situation told the agency that Kotelnikov “suddenly felt sick, called an ambulance, but they could not save him.” As a result, the prisoner died of acute heart failure.

Earlier, this businessman was arrested as an intermediary in a bribery case against former Deputy Minister of Defense Timur Ivanov.

Let’s recall that in April, a close associate of the then Minister of Defense Sergei Shoigu was imprisoned in Russia. Timur Ivanov has served as Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation since 2016 and is considered a representative of Shoigu’s inner circle. Officially, Ivanov was accused of corruption, but the media already had information that he could be accused of treason.
