The Commander of the Air Force, Lieutenant General Nikolai Oleshchuk, reported this on his Telegram channel.
In addition, during the night the enemy carried out an air attack with 19 Shahed-131/136 type attack UAVs and unidentified type drones from the areas of Primorsko-Akhtarsk (Krasnodar Krai, Russia) and Kursk.
It is noted that the main direction of the attack was Starokonstantinov. Fighter aircraft, anti-aircraft missile units of the Air Force, mobile fire groups of the Defense Forces of Ukraine and electronic warfare units were involved in repelling the enemy’s air attack.
As a result:
- Anti-aircraft combat missiles were shot down in the Khmelnytsky, Sumy and Cherkasy regions; air defense shot down 11 “shahids” and unmanned aerial vehicles of an unknown type in the Nikolaev, Kyiv, Vinnytsia, Khmelnytsky, Kherson and Sumy regions;
- The remaining eight drones were lost to location.
Probably, in order to overload the air defense, the enemy is using simulators of attack UAVs, Oleshchuk noted.
There were no reports of casualties or damage.
If you discover suspicious objects, please do not take any action yourself, but immediately report their location to the police, the State Emergency Service or the local administration, he emphasized.
