In Vienna, a 40-year-old suspect from Dagestan committed suicide in a deportation center using a kitchen towel and shoelaces. The man is accused of links to the Islamic State and planning attacks on Cologne Cathedral and St. Stephen’s Cathedral in Vienna. This was reported by the Kronen-Zeitung on Thursday, July 11.
The investigation proved that a native of Dagestan planned terrorist attacks with a citizen of Tajikistan on the eve of last Christmas and New Year. Both were detained a few days before the scheduled date.

According to the publication, after the expiration of their pre-trial detention, the suspects were transferred to a special police center, where they are being held pending deportation.
The suspect was about to be deported to Russia, but his body was found in his cell a few hours ago.
