The Prime Minister of Portugal, Luis Montenegro, assured that the aid to Ukraine from Portugal will reach 220 million euros in 2024, and plans to provide the same amount for Ukraine in 2025, writes JN.
“This year alone, we estimate that we will reach the amount of support of more than 220 million euros, which will be repeated next year, all within the framework of the final settlement that will be established at this summit,” said Montenegro .
The prime minister added that Portugal aims to reach 2% of defense budget spending, and it should be done by 2029 – a year earlier than predicted.
“This international coalition is also considering the possibility of a significant financial contribution to military, humanitarian, political and economic support for Ukraine,” he said.
Earlier it was reported that Portugal allocated 100 million euros for shells for Ukraine.
