Drones can perform a variety of functions, including combat missions, logistics, evacuation, mining and demining.
The roles of infantrymen on the battlefield will be partially replaced by drones, and this should happen in the near future. This was stated by the Minister of Strategic Industries of Ukraine Alexander Kamyshin at the opening of the representative office of Ukroboronprom in Washington, Voice of America reports.
Kamyshin emphasized that innovations such as drones have already proven themselves in the air and on the water.
“We have shown that we can change the situation in the air thanks to UAVs, in the sea thanks to sea drones, in fact, without a fleet, we drove the Russian fleet out of Crimea and now they are under the sea. if where they should be.
The publication notes that the widespread use of drones in Russia’s war against Ukraine has changed the nature of warfare, but the prospects for the same widespread use of drones on land as in the air and water are not yet to be determined.
Observers point to the complexity of the task, as a ground-based drone must overcome more obstacles in its path than a drone in the air or water. The Wall Street Journal notes that neither the United States nor its allies have experience in effectively using ground-based drones in combat situations.
Currently, land-based drones are used to a limited extent for mine clearance. But the Ukrainian government believes drones can perform other functions, including combat missions, logistics, medical evacuation, mining and demining.
This is in line with Ukraine’s philosophy, Kamyshin said, “because we count people and we want people to be as far from the front line as possible.”
We remind you that a representative office of Ukroboronprom has been opened in the United States. He will seek investment opportunities and military-technical partners in the United States.
Earlier, JSC Ukroboronprom signed a memorandum with the leading company in the development and production of missile systems – MBDA Deutschland.
