NATO countries plan to recognize Russia as a direct threat to collective security and combine the corresponding definition with the new strategic concept. NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said this on press conferences.

It was noted that at the summit scheduled in Madrid for June 28-30, an updated concept of the alliance within 10 years will be approved.

“Leaders will approve a new strategic concept that will reflect the current security situation … It will call Russia as one of the most significant threats to our security,” Stoltenberg said.

Recall that at the NATO summit in Madrid, a decision will be made to provide immediate assistance to Ukraine, as well as a long-term program for the rearmament of the Armed Forces of Ukraine will be considered.
