Iran has significantly increased missile production – media

The latest satellite images show a major expansion of Iran’s two main ballistic missile production facilities. This followed a deal from October 2022 in which Iran agreed to supply missiles to Russia, which is looking for them for its war against Ukraine. Reuters reported this on Monday, July 8.

The agency said Iran’s arsenal is currently the largest in the Middle East and is estimated at more than three thousand missiles. These weapons include modifications designed to carry conventional and nuclear warheads.

Satellite images show more than 30 new structures surrounded by massive earthworks seen at the Modarres military base in March and the Hojir industrial complex in April.

Experts associate these shafts with the production of missiles, perhaps designed to prevent an explosion in a building that would lead to an explosion in nearby structures.

Three Iranian officials told Reuters that the sites in the photos were being expanded to increase ballistic missile production. Also, some of the new buildings will allow the production of drones to be doubled.

It is likely that the drones and missile parts produced there will be sold to Russia, and some of the drones may be transferred to the Houthis, and the missiles to Hezbollah.

Let’s recall that in February Reuters reported that Iran was transferring 400 ballistic missiles to Russia with a range of up to 700 km.
