The leaders of both countries will hold bilateral talks in Washington in the coming days, and will also take part in several multilateral events as part of the NATO summit.
On the anniversary of the NATO summit in Washington, Ukrainian Presidents Vladimir Zelensky and US President Joe Biden will hold bilateral talks. White House Advisor John Kirby announced this on Monday, July 8.
“We are working now to arrange additional bilateral meetings (Biden – ed.).
He did not specify the date of the bilateral negotiations. However, he recalled that the plans for the summit in Washington include a meeting of the Ukraine-NATO Council, after which Zelensky and Biden will participate in a meeting with the leaders of two dozen countries that have signed security agreements in our state.
As you know, the NATO summit will take place in Washington on July 9-11. It is expected that the Ukrainian issue will be key during the discussion at the meeting of the leaders of the Alliance member countries.
Zelensky earlier said he would promote at the summit the transfer of additional Patriot air defense systems and the signing of new agreements on security guarantees.
Let’s recall that in June Zelensky met with Biden twice – in France, at the D-Day celebration in Normandy and Italy at the G7 summit. At the last meeting a security agreement was signed between Ukraine and the United States.
