A large-scale air raid alarm was declared throughout Ukraine on the morning of July 8.

In particular, Kyiv was under a massive missile attack by cruise missiles of several types and aeroballistic missiles “Kinzhal”. It was very loud in the capital and the Kyiv region – the air defense was working. The Kiev Regional Military Administration and the mayor of Kyiv Vitali Klitschko reported this on Telegram.
According to the mayor, air defense forces were operating in the suburbs of Kyiv.
Rocket debris fell in the Dniprovsky and Solomensky districts. Services were called to the Goloseevsky district and medical teams were called to the Solomensky district. An explosion also thundered in the Shevchenkovsky district.
Journalist Andrey Tsaplienko reported on Telegram that people were being evacuated from the Lukyanovskaya metro station. Preliminary, there was an aircraft landing nearby, because there was a lot of smoke.
The Kyiv City Military Administration published preliminary data on the explosions on Telegram:
- in Solomensky district there is damage to an office building;
- in Goloseevsky – debris fell near a residential building;
- Debris in a residential building is burning in Dneprovsk
- a private house was damaged in the Darnitsky district;
- A house fire broke out in the Desnyansky district.
Klitschko reported three casualties in the capital. Information about one fatality is being verified.
There was also a hit on one of the premises of a children’s medical facility.
Let us recall that on the night of July 8, the Russians attacked Ukraine with six air- and land-based missiles. The launches were from Tu-95MS strategic aviation aircraft and Iskander-M systems. Air defense destroyed three Kh-101 cruise missiles in the Zhitomir and Cherkasy regions.
