At the upcoming NATO summit in Washington, Bulgaria plans to propose peace negotiations between Russia and Ukraine and act as a mediator.
The Ukrainian Embassy in Bulgaria called on the country’s officials and all political forces in Bulgaria not to use the subject of the war for political purposes. This was stated in the department’s post on its Facebook page.
Thus, the Ukrainian embassy responded to the statement of the Prime Minister of Bulgaria Dimitar Glavchev that at the NATO summit in Washington, Sofia will propose the start of peace negotiations between Ukraine and Russia.
“The Embassy of Ukraine in the Republic of Bulgaria calls on all officials and all political forces in Bulgaria to refrain from using the topic of war for political purposes,” the message said.
They noted that Ukrainians pay the hardest price every day to stop the aggressor, so calls to limit or stop aid to Ukraine almost mean incitement to support Russia.
Expressing gratitude for Glavchev’s participation in the Peace Summit, as well as for the provided political, financial, energy, humanitarian and practical defense support, Ukrainian diplomats called on political forces and civil society to come together to strengthen the aid to Ukraine.
Earlier, Dimitar Glavchev said that Bulgaria plans to propose at the upcoming NATO summit in Washington to start peace negotiations between Russia and Ukraine. Sofia should act as an intermediary between Kiev and Moscow.
