Returning surplus equipment to service will allow optimizing costs and quickly providing the troops with the necessary resources.
The Ministry of Defense has returned thousands of pieces of equipment to the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) as part of resource optimization. The department announced this on Saturday, July 6.
In particular, the Department for Alienation and Disposal of Surplus Military Property organized the return of 1,500 units of weapons and military equipment, as well as more than 2 thousand items of military-technical property.
This includes vehicles (MT-LB, tankers, trucks, tank repair shops, tank tractors, BREMs, etc.), repair equipment, communications equipment and other necessary elements.
“The return of surplus property will allow us to optimize costs and quickly provide the troops with the necessary resources,” said Deputy Defense Minister Yuri Dzhigir.
Let’s recall that since the beginning of 2024, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have approved 480 models of new weapons and military equipment for operation, about 290 of which are products of domestic gunsmiths.
Earlier it was reported that the Ukrainian Armed Forces received 40 types of artillery weapons for the operation. Among the codified samples, many foreign-made samples were accepted.
