This is reported by Russian Telegram channels and local authorities.
The attack caused fires and damage to energy infrastructure.
At around three o’clock in the morning, Rostov Region Governor Vasily Golubev announced the operation of Russian air defense systems near the regional center.
An hour later, he reported that 10 drones had allegedly been shot down over the region. He added that the fall of the UAV debris had caused “landscape fires” on the left bank of the Don River in Rostov and in the Azov region. According to preliminary data, there were no casualties, the consequences are being clarified.
However, local publics reported that drones could have attacked a terminal for transshipment of oil products (oil depot) between Bataysk and Rostov. However, there is no official confirmation of this information yet.
Analysts from the Dnipro OSINT group, with Garbuz, determined using eyewitness video that the fire could indeed have been on the territory of a Russian oil depot.
In addition, drones attacked Primorsko-Akhtarsk in the Krasnodar region, where a military airfield is located, from which the occupiers launch Shahed 136 (Geran-2) attack drones at Ukrainian territory.
Local authorities said the drone was shot down by Russian air defense, but the drone’s debris damaged a local power substation, causing power and water to go out in part of the city.
This was also confirmed by the region’s governor, Veniamin Kondratyev. According to him, repair and restoration work is ongoing.
Over the past few months, there have been regular attacks by unmanned aerial vehicles on military installations and oil infrastructure facilities.
