MP Fedir Venislavsky from Servant of the People explained the impossibility of the government’s resignation against the backdrop of new media reports about possible replacements for Denis Shmyhal.
Member of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security Venislavsky noted that the resignation of the Prime Minister will automatically lead to the resignation of the entire Cabinet. Since the termination of the powers of the government under martial law is impossible, the resignation of Prime Minister Shmyhal is also impossible.
I don’t see any legal mechanisms for implementing such a hypothetical scenario right now, without making changes to Ukrainian legislation,” Venislavsky explained on Radio Liberty.
At the same time, Venislavsky noted that the resignation of one or another minister at the request of the Prime Minister may be considered.
In July, Ukrainian media began actively writing that President Volodymyr Zelensky was allegedly tired of Prime Minister Denis Shmyhal and could replace him with Deputy Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko.
