The goal of the campaign is to purchase and send to the front in Ukraine as many Lithuanian-made or assembled drones as possible.
In Lithuania, volunteers from the Blue/Yellow organization, including the country’s former president Dalia Grybauskaite, launched the “Greetings from Lithuania” campaign to raise funds for drones for Ukraine. LRT reported this on Wednesday, July 3.
The patron of the campaign is the former Lithuanian president Dalia Grybauskaite. He explained his participation in the project by saying “Ukraine is our common front, where each of us can be a heavy fist for the aggressor.”
“We will send our Lithuanian drones into battle so they can fight the enemy on our behalf. We are fighting for life, for victory, for the future,” Grybauskaite said.
Project leaders noted that anyone who donates 500 euros to the organization will be able to send a personalized drone to Ukraine with “greetings from Lithuania.”
“Only in the first half of this year, we bought and sent more than 2,000 drones to Ukraine – from small FPVs to large and specialized ones for specific missions, this is not enough, so we intend to add at least a few hundred more drones this month.” , said Laura Paukste, director of Blue/Yellow.
It is indicated that the drones within the project will be developed by the end of the summer.
The mayor of Vilnius Valdas Benkunskas presented a defense plan for the capital of Lithuania in case of war.
In the past, the Baltic countries agreed to create a “drone wall” to protect their external borders using UAVs.
