Ukraine expects something similar to an invitation to NATO during the Alliance summit, which will take place in Washington on July 9-11. Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky said this in an interview with Bloomberg.
The head of state said that at the NATO summit he will promote the transfer of additional Patriot air defense systems to Ukraine and the signing of new agreements on security guarantees.
According to him, Ukraine is striving to receive an invitation to join the Alliance, but “knows that it will not be accepted.”
“We want to see something like an invitation. It’s a sign that nobody is afraid of (Russian dictator Vladimir) Putin and everybody has confidence in the leadership of the United States,” the president explained.
We remind you that the North Atlantic Alliance plans to appoint a person responsible for long-term aid to Ukraine in the near future.
