Kyiv is about to receive a new military aid package worth $150 million, the White House said.
The United States announced a new military aid package to Ukraine totaling $150 million. This is what White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said in a briefing on Wednesday, July 3.
This is the seventh military aid package to Ukraine under a new funding program adopted in April.
The new package provides:
-
missiles for air defense systems;
-
ammunition for HIMARS systems;
-
missile systems;
-
artillery shells and other critical equipment.
All these weapons were taken from the US Army stockpile, so their delivery should take place in the near future.
Part of the package will be spent on industrial purchases of missiles for the Patriot and NASAMS air defense systems, so they will be transferred later.
As already written, Ukraine and the United States discussed the supply of the Patriot. Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba met with US Assistant Secretary of State James O’Brien.
