Among the assets that exceeded the financial capabilities of the deputy prosecutor general removed from the post were houses, apartments and land plots in Kyiv, Odessa and Antalya, as well as premium cars.
Signs of the guilt of criminal corruption were identified in the actions of the former Deputy Prosecutor General of Ukraine Dmitry Verbitsky, indicating the illegal enrichment of almost 29 million Hryvnias. This was reported by the NAPC press service.
“During the monitoring of the lifestyle, the National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption (NACP) identified signs of a criminal offense of corruption in the actions of the former Deputy Prosecutor General of Ukraine, indicating his illegal enrichment of almost 29 million UAH,” the report said.
The NACP established that, on the instructions of the official, people associated with him bought: a LEXUS ES 300H car worth more than 960 thousand UAH, a LEXUS NX 300H car worth more than 480 thousand UAH, a PORSCHE MACAN T car worth UAH 3.5 million, a house and a land plot in Kyiv worth UAH 16.3 million, a house and a land plot in Odessa worth UAH 10 million, an apartment and land plot in Antalya (Turkey) worth UAH 3.9 million.
In addition, the legal sources of the origin of cash worth more than UAH 2 million, as well as the cryptocurrency Tether (USDT), have not been established.
Earlier it was reported about the dismissal of Verbitsky from the position of Deputy Prosecutor General. Dmitry Verbitsky was left without a position after becoming an accused in two journalistic investigations.
Before this, Prosecutor General Andrei Kostin announced an internal investigation against Verbitsky. Then he said that his representative “conducts a number of high-profile proceedings, the defendants are very interested in his removal or dismissal.” Verbitsky was relieved of his duties.
