Average daily pipeline exports rose to 81.8 million cubic meters, up from 66.8 million cubic meters in June 2023.
Russian gas monopolist Gazprom in June 2024 increased the average daily supply of gas to Europe by almost 23% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, reports Reuters.
Calculations based on data from the European gas transport group Entsog and daily reports from Gazprom showed that average daily pipeline exports increased to 81.8 million cubic meters, from 66.8 million cubic meters in June 2023, and Gazprom’s total natural gas exports to Europe this year reached about 15.5 billion cubic meters.
Europe, once Russia’s main export market, is now buying less Russian gas, and Gazprom has increased gas sales to China. Pipeline gas imports from Russia to China increased last year to 22.7 billion cubic meters, which is almost 1.5 times higher than in 2022 (15.4 billion cubic meters).
According to Gazprom data and Reuters calculations, Russia will sell a total of about 63.8 billion cubic meters of gas to Europe in 2022. Last year, the volume decreased by another 55.6% – to 28.3 billion cubic meters , and at its peak – in 2018-2019 – the annual export of gas from the Russian Federation to Europe reached from 175 to 180 billion cubic meters.
Earlier it was reported that Ukraine wants to pass the warming period through its own gas production.
