New rules for Ukrainian refugees came into force in Poland on July 1.

As noted on the website of the Prime Minister’s Office, the provisions of the special law, which have been in force for more than two years, need to be amended and supplemented with new regulations.
Therefore, from July 1, new provisions of the Law on assistance to citizens of Ukraine in connection with the armed conflict on the territory of this country came into force.
The PESEL certificate will need to be obtained immediately upon arrival (previously – up to 30 days after arrival).
Previously, for this in Poland you could present any document (driver’s license, Ukrainian passport), now you need to present a foreign passport.
The government left the amount of 800 zlotys for a monthly benefit for Ukrainians in Poland and 300 zlotys as a lump sum payment for children going to Polish schools.
However, payments to Poles for asylum of Ukrainians will be canceled in Poland.
From September 1, all Ukrainian children will attend Polish schools.
Ukrainians who have been living in Poland for 365 days with a PESEL document will be able to apply for a residence permit (a card with a stamp), which gives the right to live in Poland for another 3 years with the possibility of staying.
