Johnson wanted to invite Zelensky to London

The British prime minister also noted that “Vladimir Zelensky has done an incredible job leading his country and world public opinion during this terrible time.”

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has said he is considering inviting Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to his country for an official visit, PA Media reports.

“If he (Zelensky) is able and finds it necessary to stay in Ukraine, then the UK will clearly be honored to receive him,” Johnson told reporters at the G-7 summit on Sunday.

The British prime minister also noted that “Vladimir Zelensky has done an incredible job leading his country and world public opinion during this terrible time.”

Earlier, sources in The Sunday Times reported that the British government was considering arranging a visit by Zelensky to the country, including a meeting with Queen Elizabeth II.

In addition, the Conservative Party also wants the President of Ukraine to address them via video link at a conference in October.

Recall that Boris Johnson himself twice visited Ukraine with unannounced visits in April and June.

The UK is ready to provide an additional $ 525 million to Ukraine as guarantees for a World Bank loan by the end of 2022.
