In addition to Schröder, who headed Nord Stream 2 AG, the Investigative Committee of the Parliament of the state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern also summoned the state prime minister and head of the German Bundesrat, Manuela Schwesig, to be questioned.
We are talking about the work of the fund to support the construction of the Russian gas pipeline, founded in 2021. And the largest donor to the fund was Nord Stream 2.
The commission is currently examining how much influence Russian donors had over local government when the foundation was founded. Preliminarily, we are talking about a donation of 20 million euros.
