South Korean company Kyungki Industrial Co confirmed that it continues to supply Russia with parts for the Aurus.
Russian dictator Vladimir Putin, during his visit to the DPRK on June 19, presented Kim Jong-un with a limousine from the Russian company Aurus. The car is equipped with spare parts from South Korea. Reuters wrote this on Friday, June 28.
The agency found that from 2018 to 2023, Russia imported equipment and parts for the production of Aurus cars and motorcycles worth at least $34 million.
Parts for the Aurus have continued to arrive from abroad after Russia’s massive invasion of Ukraine, with nearly $16 million worth of goods imported since February 2022 alone, including $5 million from South Korea. At the same time, the car manufacturer was subject to US sanctions only in February 2024.
In general, South Korean companies are among the largest suppliers of parts for the Aurus. They include industrial equipment maker Kyungki Industrial, auto parts maker BYT and battery supplier Enertech International.
A representative from Kyungki Industrial confirmed that the company has supplied spare parts for the Aurus and continues to do so.

As is known, Putin gave Kim Jong-un two Aurus cars, the first during Kim’s visit to Russia in February, and a slightly different model during his visit to the DPRK in June.
