It is impossible to find an alternative to such a wide representation, the Ukrainian leader believes.
No one now expects any alternative to the Contact Group for the Defense of Ukraine (Ramstein format). He will continue to work. The head of state said this at a joint press conference with Slovenian President Pirc Musar in Kyiv on Friday, June 28.
Journalists asked Zelensky if anything could replace the Ramstein format and if Ukraine wanted it.
“No one expects any alternative, it will be an additional tool, it will work, it is important for us representation,” responded the president.
The head of state noted that NATO and Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg are offering Ukraine an additional powerful tool that will not replace Ramstein. But it’s too early to talk about it.
According to Zelensky, such an initiative provides a very important mechanism – so that the money allocated by partners for defense capabilities as part of aid to Ukrainians reaches Ukraine.
We remind you that the member countries of the Contact Group on Defense of Ukraine in the Ramstein format have pledged to provide Ukraine with security assistance worth nearly $100 billion.
Meanwhile, Argentina joined the Ramstein Contact Group for the Defense of Ukraine.
