A court in the Czech city of Pilsen has sent a 35-year-old Ukrainian citizen accused of attempting to kill his wife to prison for 18 years. novinky.cz reported this on Thursday, June 27.
After the woman said she wanted to leave him, the man first beat her, then inserted a firecracker into her penis and set it on fire. The woman almost died of bleeding.
He refused to call an ambulance and took himself to a hospital 40 kilometers from home. In the emergency department, the man said that his wife had injured herself by lifting something too heavy, but the doctors decided to call the police.
The convict did not admit his guilt. The husband said he put firecrackers inside his wife as a joke. According to him, the room was dark, so he took a lighter to make it brighter, and the firecracker “accidentally went off.”
A woman who left him a few months before the incident came to collect his belongings. The man prepares a romantic dinner for her and suggests a role play with bondage.
“At first he didn’t want it, but he agreed, I tied his hands behind his back, put a gag on his mouth and sealed it with tape, and then I saw him on the bed and lighters by the sofa, took one and stuck it on her penis I thought it was funny – just plug it in and pull it out, just a joke.
When the woman asked to bring out the firecracker, she said she couldn’t see it because it was dark, and got a lighter.
“My husband was scared, screamed and twitched at that moment, I brought a lighter to light and release the firecracker, but it was too close and I caught fire. I don’t know how long I stood there to release the firecracker, and at that moment it exploded.
Now the convicted man must pay 500,000 kroner ($21,500) as moral compensation to his wife, 120,000 kroner ($5,000) for physical harm and 115,000 kroner ($5,000) to the insurance company.
