The priority goal of the new community is to help the small island state, the media speaks about the anti-Chinese bloc.
The United States of America, Great Britain, Japan, Australia and New Zealand entered into an informal alliance Blue Pacific partners (Partners in the Blue Pacific or PBP). This was reported on the White House website.
It is the first and foremost an economic union that aims to help small island nations such as Fiji, Palau, Samoa and the Marshall Islands address issues ranging from climate change to illegal fishing, according to the statement.
At the same time, it noted that all five countries will look for ways to solve problems such as “growing pressure on a free and open international order based on rules.”
It should be noted that a number of foreign media, against the background of Beijing’s statements about plans to return Taiwan somehow, called the new group of countries an “anti-Chinese alliance.”
Earlier, U.S. State Department spokesman Ned Price said China’s claim of neutrality about the war in Ukraine did not match the true state of affairs.
