The SBU thwarted the enemy’s plans and detained the henchmen of the invaders, and also secured the locations of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
Counterintelligence of the Security Service detained a Russian agent operating in front-line Zaporozhye and preparing attacks on the Zaporozhye air defense. The SBU reported this on its Telegram channel on Thursday, June 27.
“The attacker tried to identify and send to the aggressor the exact coordinates of anti-aircraft missile systems the agent also monitored the main routes of movement and the approximate number of advanced military equipment of the Ukrainian Armed Forces moving in the direction … The Russians want to use this information to plan missile and drone strikes in the region, as well as to prepare military operations in the direction of Zaporozhye,” the message said.
The enemy agent contacted a staff member of the 316th Intelligence Center of the Main Directorate of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces (known as the GRU), stationed in temporarily occupied Sevastopol.
The SBU thwarted the enemy’s plans and caught the defendant violently conducting additional reconnaissance near a potential target, and took comprehensive measures to ascertain the locations of Ukrainian troops.
