94-year-old The Notebook star Gena Rowlands has been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease. The mother of the actress also suffered from this disease.
American actress Gena Rowlands, who starred in the movie “The Notebook,” has been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease. The son of the star Nick Cassavetes told Entertainment Weekly about it.
It was noted that in the film the celebrity played the main character Ellie Rachel McAdams, who also suffered from dementia.
According to the star’s son, Rowlands has been sick for more than five years, adding that he hardly understands what is happening around him.
“I got my mom to play Ellie, and we spent a lot of time talking about Alzheimer’s, and now, for the last five years, she’s had Alzheimer’s. She’s in a state of complete dementia. And this is very crazy – we’ve lived it, she played it, and now everything depends on us,” he said.
By the way, Rowlands’ mother also suffered from Alzheimer’s disease. He died in 1999. In 2004, in an interview with O magazine, the star said that he had a hard time making the film and that he would hardly have agreed to participate if his son had not been the director.
“The last film – The Notebook, based on the novel by Nicholas Sparks – was especially difficult because I was playing a character with Alzheimer’s disease. I experienced that with my mother, and if Nick hadn’t directed the film, I wouldn’t have think I would have taken it on.” it’s just too hard. It was a hard movie, but it was a great movie,” said Ginny.
It was previously reported that Celine Dion, who suffers from an incurable disease called stiff muscle syndrome, has shared details of her symptoms.
