The image with the caption “Peace has a price” was collected by artificial intelligence. The banner contains 182 photographs of fallen Ukrainian soldiers, who in civilian life belonged to fan movements of Ukrainian football clubs. The corresponding video appeared on the Internet.
UEFA banned Ukrainian fans from entering the stadium with photographs of heroes killed in the war.
As you know, 21-year-old Vinnytsia resident Nazariy Grintsevich was a fan of the local Niva. He was one of the youngest Azovstal defenders in Mariupol. The defender and his brothers held back the invasion of Russian invaders for almost three months, and then were captured.
He was released on September 21, 2022, along with other 215 Ukrainian prisoners of war. After 4 months of captivity, he returned to the front. The death of “Grenka” became known on May 7.
Let us remind you that today at the Mercedes-Benz Arena stadium in Stuttgart the most important match for Ukrainian fans in the group stage of Euro 2024 is taking place. Ukraine, in a confrontation with Belgium, is trying to get a chance to continue competing at the tournament in Germany.
