12% of citizens do not believe in victory in the war against the aggressor country. Among those who believe in victory, 65% are residents of the eastern regions of Ukraine, 79% – southern and 84% – western and central. Also, among the Ukrainians surveyed who do not believe in victory, 9% live in the central region of Ukraine and approximately 18% in the east. This is evidenced by the results of a survey by the sociological service Razumkov Center.
Ukraine will win the war by the end of 2024, according to 24% of respondents. And approximately 38% of Ukrainians believe that the country will win in a year or two. Another 15% of respondents believe that this requires more time – two or three years, and 5% voted for five years. Another 1% expressed pessimistic views, that is, they answered that “hardly in my lifetime.”
The survey results also show that 42% of respondents believe that the expulsion of the occupying army from the entire territory of Ukraine and the restoration of the borders as of January 2014 can be considered a victory in the war. And 17.5% of Ukrainians will consider it a victory to destroy the Russian occupiers and promote an uprising or disintegration within Russia.
As of February 23, 2022, 14% consider the restoration of the status quo to be a victory, and 8% consider the expulsion of the aggressor throughout Ukraine, except for the occupied Crimea. Another 8% consider ending the war a victory, even if the Russian army remains in the territories captured by a full-scale invasion in 2022.
Let us remind you that 64% of Ukrainians consider the economic situation in Ukraine to be very bad. Only 3% of respondents rate the situation as good or very good, and 27% – as neither bad nor good.
