The first intergovernmental conferences will be held in Luxembourg, within the framework of which negotiations on Ukraine’s accession to the EU will be launched.
On Tuesday, June 25, negotiations on Ukraine’s accession to the European Union will officially begin. The President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen congratulated the Ukrainians on this historic event on the social network.
“We congratulate Moldova and Ukraine on the start of the accession negotiations,” she noted.
It is now known in Luxembourg in the afternoon – for Ukraine at 15:30, and for Moldova – at 18:00 – the first intergovernmental conference will take place, within the framework of which accession negotiations will begin in the EU.

We remind you that the Ukrainian delegation at this event will be headed by the Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Olga Stefanishyna. From the EU side – Belgian Foreign Minister Aja Labib and EU Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighborhood Policy Oliver Varhelyi. Members of the bloc will be represented at ministerial level for European affairs.
During this event, the EU will present a negotiating framework outlining the principles and framework for further negotiations. In addition, representatives of Ukraine and the EU will introduce their negotiating delegations and exchange opening statements.
