Preparations for winter in conditions of power shortages continue, in particular, negotiations are underway with international partners, businesses and local authorities to establish distributed generation locally. In Ukraine, the locations where small power plants are located have been identified. This was announced by the Minister of Energy German Galushchenko, writes the press service of the Ministry of Energy.
“Locations across the country have been identified where gas turbines and gas piston units can be installed to meet critical electricity supply needs during the cold season,” Galushchenko said at a meeting with the head of Secretariat of the Energy Community, Artur Lorkowski.
The parties discussed the possibility of purchasing the necessary equipment using funds from the Energy Support Fund of Ukraine, which was created in the spring of 2022. The total amount of donor contributions to the Fund (transferred and announced) is more than 545 million euros.
As reported by Arthur Lorkovsky, based on the results of the Conference on the Restoration of Ukraine held in Berlin, new revenues to the fund are expected.
The participants of the meeting discussed the issues of further integration of the Ukrainian electricity market with the European one, as well as charges important for its implementation.
It was previously reported that on the night of June 19-20, Russian troops destroyed energy infrastructure facilities in four regions of Ukraine.
