This well was laid as an exploration well in order to clarify the geological structure and assess the gas content of the deposits of one of the recently discovered deposits. Its depth is 5 km 767 m, and drilling began in September 2023. The work was carried out by one of the branches of Ukrburgaz. The press service of NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine reported this on June 21.
According to the head of Ukrgazvydobuvannya Oleg Tolmachev, gas workers received positive results from this well. The new field has the prospect of further exploration destruction in order to increase the raw material base and gas production volumes.
By the way, the drilling of two more exploration wells at this field was completed. “They are currently being prepared for testing,” Tolmachev said.
Let us recall that Bloomberg reported that the European Union is interested in continuing the transit of gas through Ukraine and the Russian Federation, but not Russian gas. The agreement on the transit of Russian gas through Ukraine expires in 2024, but Kyiv will not continue it.
