Currently only consultations are being held, but negotiations will continue in the future. Minister of Internal Affairs Igor Klimenko stated this in an interview with Radio Liberty.
We are holding consultations with our colleagues from the European Union, these negotiations will continue,” he noted.
The minister added that now the majority of EU countries do not plan to return such citizens.
Klimenko said that every day “dozens of people” are detained trying to illegally cross the border. According to him, every day Ukrainian border guards detain from 10 to 30 people trying to cross the border in the direction of EU states, including through Tisza or through forests. At the same time, he noted that not all men from this number are running away from mobilization.
The head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs refused to name statistics for the entire period of the full-scale war. Klimenko noted that “the numbers are closed.”
Let us remind you that Deputy Prime Minister-Minister for Reintegration of Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine Irina Vereshchuk said that the Cabinet of Ministers is preparing a resolution that will allow 17-year-old Ukrainians abroad to receive a deferment for registration with the TCC until returning to Ukraine or the end of martial law .
