The parliament made the corresponding decision today, June 20. 239 people’s deputies voted for bill No. 10439. The text has been agreed upon with partners. The law provides for the independent selection of the new head of the BEB, re-certification and personnel selection with the participation of foreign experts and Ukrainian business. Parliamentarian from Golos Yaroslav Zheleznyak reported this on Telegram.
According to the people’s deputy, the wording of the law meets the requirements of international partners, business and the public.
The BEB Law stipulates that the new head of the department must be elected by a commission of six members, half of which are international experts with voting rights.
The recertification is carried out by a commission consisting of six people from the newly elected director of the BEB and six from international partners, but at the suggestion of the Ukrainian business environment.
It is expected that personnel commissions will work for the next three years: six members from the BEB and six from partners on the proposal of Ukrainian business.
The independence of the director of the Bureau of Economic Security is guaranteed at the level of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau, the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office and the National Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office.
Let us recall that on April 11, the Verkhovna Rada in the first reading supported bill No. 10439 on the reboot of the Bureau of Economic Security. Then 264 people’s representatives voted for the corresponding decision.
