Far-right leader Jordan Bardella, if elected prime minister, would cut military aid to Ukraine.
French Prime Minister Gabriel Attal has not ruled out reducing military aid to Ukraine if the far-right wins the parliamentary elections. This was reported by BFM TV on Wednesday, June 20.
“For the far right, the next step is absolutely clear: it is to block the European Union. It is already clear. The leader of the far right, Jordan Bardella, proposes to finance his promises that cannot be implemented, especially that is by reducing our contribution to Europe,” he said.
Attal emphasized that this would be the beginning of Frexit.
“The next step after this, if the National Rally accepts it, is the end of a significant part of the support for Ukraine,” said the French prime minister.
The other day, Bardella said that if he was elected prime minister, Ukraine would no longer receive long-range missiles.
“In the case of Jordan Bardella, Ukraine will no longer be able to take some of the defensive actions it is taking now against Russia,” the French Prime Minister said.
Let’s remember that after the defeat of the pro-presidential forces in the European Parliament elections, French President Emmanuel Macron dissolved the National Assembly and announced early elections.
Opinion polls indicate that Marine Le Pen’s far-right National Rally party has every chance of winning early elections, but without an absolute majority.
