Russian troops are trying to dislodge units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces from positions near Shumy and New York.
Since the beginning of the current day, 47 clashes have taken place on the front. The Russian invaders mostly attacked in the direction of Pokrovsky and became more active in the direction of Toretsk, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported in its morning report on Thursday, June 20.
In total, battles have taken place in seven directions. In the direction of Kupyansky Five battles are currently ongoing in the areas of Stepnaya Novoselovka, Peschany, Stelmakhovka and Ternov. Three more enemy attacks near Stelmakhovka have been repulsed. The situation there is under control.
“The enemy has been active in the direction of Toretsk – now he is trying to dislodge our defenders from positions near Shumy and New York. The battle continues,” the message said.
The enemy remains active in the direction of Pokrovsky. From the beginning of the day, he made 12 attempts to break through our defenses in the areas of Alexandropol, Novoaleksandrovka, Sokol, Novoselovka Pervoy and Tonenky. Of these, 10 are still ongoing.
“The situation is tense, the Defense Forces are taking measures to exhaust the offensive potential of the invaders,” the General Staff said.
In another direction, the invaders did not take active offensive actions.
We remind you that on the day of June 19, Russia lost approximately 1,200 military personnel at the front. The total losses of the aggressor country crossed the line of 530 thousand people.
