The meeting of G7 leaders will be held on June 26-28 at Elmau Castle in German Bavaria.
The NATO summit will be held on June 28-30 in Madrid. One of the main themes of both events is expected the Russian invasion of Ukraine, as well as the accession of Finland and Sweden to NATO.
One of the main topics of both events was the situation in Ukraine.
As a representative of the American administration told reporters earlier, the United States hopes to actively discuss issues related to providing and expanding military aid to Kyiv. G7 leaders will also discuss “increasing pressure on the Russian Federation.”
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky will speak at the same summit via video link.
Another central theme of the summit was energy. As stated by the US administration, the parties will discuss measures aimed at reducing Russia’s dependence on oil and gas, as well as reducing Russia’s revenues from energy exports.
As part of the trip, Biden is scheduled to have bilateral meetings with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez and Spanish King Philip.
