The Verkhovna Rada summoned Prosecutor General Andrei Kostin to report on the property of his deputy Dmitry Verbitsky.
The National Anti-Corruption Bureau began proceedings on the possible illegal enrichment of Deputy Prosecutor General Dmitry Verbitsky, appearing in the program’s journalistic investigation Scheme. “The facts revealed in the program of investigative journalism Scheme about the possible illegal enrichment of the Deputy Prosecutor General is the subject of a pre-trial investigation in the criminal proceedings initiated by the detectives of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine on May 13, 2024 on the grounds of a crime under of Art. 368-5 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (illegal enrichment, – edit),” the prosecutor’s office said.
It was also reported that the Verkhovna Rada summoned Prosecutor General Andrei Kostin to a meeting tomorrow to report on the property of his deputy Dmitry Verbitsky.
Previous journalists of the program Scheme published an investigation stating that Verbitsky lived in a townhouse in the cottage town of Konik in Kyiv, which his nephew bought for an Odessa businessman for six times less than the market value.
Later, the investigators spoke about Verbitsky’s girlfriend, Kristina Ilnitskaya, who in 2024 became the owner of a new Porsche and a 3-story cottage in the same cottage town. The total cost of the acquisition is at least 52 million hryvnias, although its total income reported to the state over the past decade is just over 360,000 hryvnias.
