An oil facility is on fire in the Rostov region due to a drone attack

Russia announced the UAV attack. At this time, explosions were heard in the city of Azov, Rostov region – an arrival in tanks with petroleum products was recorded there. Local Telegram channels reported this on Tuesday, June 18.

The information was confirmed by the governor of the Rostov region, Vasily Golubev. The representative of the aggressors traditionally blamed the Ukrainian Defense Forces for the attack.

The network showed photos and videos from the place of arrival at the oil storage facility in Azov – they showed a strong fire.

As Golubev said, according to preliminary data, there were no casualties. Emergency services are on site.

Russian propaganda publications wrote that before the oil facility caught fire, local residents heard five explosions.

The Telegram channel This Rostov News, citing local residents, reports that a methanol production plant in the port area is on fire.

Exports of oil and petroleum products from Russia fell in April to levels last seen in late 2023 due to Ukrainian drone attacks.

On the evening of May 17, the Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR) of the Ministry of Defense and the Security Service of Ukraine carried out a joint attack with drones exclusively of Ukrainian production on a number of Russian military facilities in Novorossiysk and temporarily occupied Sevastopol.
