The commander of the 125th Territorial Defense Brigade, which defended the Kharkov region, Artur Gorbenko announced that he was leaving his post.

The officer did not specify the reason for his dismissal, but noted that he would continue to serve in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He also thanked his brothers for their service, loyalty to the oath and dedication to the Ukrainian people. The brigade published a corresponding statement on Facebook on June 17.
I bow my head and bow deeply to all those who died. “Eternal memory to the soldiers of the 125th Separate Territorial Defense Brigade who gave their most valuable assets – their lives for our country, for peace and tranquility in their native land,” Gorbenko noted.
As you know, the 125th Territorial Defense Brigade has taken part in battles in the eastern direction of Ukraine since September 2022, in particular in the counter-offensive in the Kharkov region, the battle for Bakhmut and Kremennaya.
Let us recall that in May 2024, the DBI began an investigation into the breach of the state border by Russian troops in the Kharkov region. Unauthorized abandonment of the battlefield and negligent attitude towards military service are being investigated.
The defendants are the command of the 125th brigade – the names of 28 servicemen appear in the cases (the commander of the operational-tactical group, the brigade commander, battalion commanders, company commanders, heads of intelligence departments of the headquarters).
