Decisions to impose sanctions against the Russian Federation are not simple decisions, they emphasize in Chisinau.
Moldova will remain neutral and will not impose sanctions against the Russian Federation. This was announced on Friday, April 1, by President Maia Sandu in an interview with Radio Europa Liberă.
As Maia Sandu explained, in this way the state could be left without Russian gas and electricity.
“Can we leave the country today without natural gas and without electricity? No, we can’t, for the sake of our citizens, or for the sake of 100,000 refugees from Ukraine, of which 50,000 are children,” the President of Moldova says.
At the same time, he pointed out that Moldova “enjoys the full support of its Western partners” and “they will try to help Chisinau find alternative options regarding energy sources.”
Recall that the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe officially recognized Pridnestrovie as a zone of Russian occupation.
