Special service soldiers eliminated the largest number of enemy armored vehicles during fierce battles in the Donetsk and Kharkov regions. To destroy armored vehicles, the SBU carried out effective operational combat operations together with units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The SB press center reported this on June 17.

The defenders used the maximum arsenal of armor-piercing weapons and unmanned systems against enemy tanks. With this technique, the aggressor often tried to break through the positions of the defense forces and provide cover for the assault groups of the invaders. The Russians also actively attracted tanks to attack the positions of Ukrainian defenders in the Zaporozhye region.

The special service noted that a large number of tanks were hit even before they stormed the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Some of the tanks were destroyed along with their crews.

According to information from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, from February 24, 2022 to June 17, 2024, 7,958 Russian tanks were destroyed. Two such armored vehicles were incinerated over the past day, June 16.

Let us recall that in May, special forces of the Security Service of Ukraine only a week later, using fpv drones and other means, destroyed 17 tanks of the Russian army.
