The only core of the peacekeeping process is the Ukraine Peace Summit. And Moscow’s proposals for “peace negotiations” are not only irresponsible, but also reject the United Nations Charter, basic morality and common sense. White House National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan said this at the peace summit in Switzerland.
We recently heard Putin’s vision of peace. He said that not only must Ukraine give up the territories that Russia now occupies, but Ukraine must give up additional sovereign territories before Russia will agree to negotiate. Ukraine must disarm so that Russia can then wage its aggression again. This is irresponsible, it excludes the UN Charter, basic morality and common sense,” the official noted.
According to Sullivan, the Ukrainian Peace Summit provides for the principles of the UN Charter, international law, sovereignty, territorial integrity and the impossibility of one state being conquered by another.
Let us recall that the President of the aggressor country, Russia, Vladimir Putin, said that Moscow is supposedly ready for negotiations with Ukraine and is making a “real peace proposal.” The dictator put forward demands on Ukraine, in particular, regarding territorial concessions, since one of the conditions is the complete withdrawal of Ukrainian troops from the Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions.
