The action lasted about 20 minutes – its participants walked about 100 meters, made posters and got off the metro.
The first Equality March since the full invasion of the Russian Federation took place in Kyiv. Suspilne reported this on June 16.
It is known that the procession through the city center lasted no more than 20 minutes. About 500 people took part in it – military personnel, representatives of LGBT+ people, diplomatic missions and international organizations.
The march area was surrounded by police, and police were also on duty in the subway and underground passages.
The head of the KyivPride public organization, Anna Sharygina, explained that the action was short because it had not been held for two years and the organizers were concerned about the safety of the participants.
At the same time, a group of activists “for traditional values” gathered in Khreshchatyk and tried to get to the place of the procession, but did not make it in time.
We remind you that in Ukraine they launched a campaign in support of LGBT+ military personnel for the International Day against Homophobia.
